First COMEDS Plenary Meeting held outside NATO territory

For the first time ever, the Swiss city of Bern welcomed the Chiefs and Surgeon Generals of NATO’s military medical services for their routine spring plenary meeting. The event goes down in history as the committee’s first conference outside NATO territory, in a Partnership for Peace Programme (PfP) member country of the alliance. The event was also upgraded by the attendance of representatives from the military medical services in Mediterranean Dialogue countries, who are regularly invited to the Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS) meetings.
