The 9th Annual Operational Medicine Symposium & Technology Showcase (OPMED), organized by DSI, returns to San Antonio, Texas, in early March 2027. The event draws senior medical officials, clinicians, government leaders and solution providers from across the military health community. Its central aim is to strengthen the lethality, survivability and readiness of the Joint Force through medical innovation.

The program responds to a changing security environment in which large-scale combat operations are likely to unfold in contested, distributed and resource-constrained settings. Sessions will explore trauma care, prolonged casualty care, medical evacuation, force health protection, blood product logistics and overall operational medical readiness. Last year’s edition, for example, featured panels on the unique medical challenges of the Indo-Pacific theater.

Beyond the stage, OPMED is built for connection. More than 1,200 professionals are expected to attend 20+ expert sessions, explore an exhibit hall with over 100 sponsors and exhibitors, and take advantage of more than six hours of dedicated networking time. Select sessions also offer CME credits for physicians, advanced practice providers and nurses involved in military medical and battlefield care.
